Free Will?
by Geoffrey Hoppe
Adamus posed a big question during this month’s Shoud: Does a human have free will?
His answer was pretty clear: Not really.
People think they have free will, and they’re generally told they have free will. But, as Adamus pointed out during the Shoud, your life would probably be very different if you did.
For instance, if you had free will you probably wouldn’t choose to die. But, at least until now, everyone does. If you had free will you’d never get sick. But most everyone I know gets sick once in a while. And if we had free will, many of us would be amazingly abundant. If people had free will there would be a lot more young, good-looking and extremely intelligent humans on the planet.
So Adamus, your point is well taken. But excuse me, I’m not sure I get your point? You mean to say that we ARE puppets? That there is some Higher Force controlling our lives? Is it beyond my abilities to consciously create my reality?
Like many others, I pondered his question over the next few days. Now I’m beginning to understand his meaning. Our human “free will” is as limited as our belief in duality. We have the ability to make some decisions in our lives, but true Free Will has eluded us in our everyday human life. In other words, we use our free will to decide how fast or slow we’ll go down our current path, but where did the path come from in the first place?
During the Shoud, Adamus went to the drawing board to illustrate our human “waveform” and our spiritual “waveform.” In a normal person the two waves ebb and flow with each, coming closer at times and drifting further apart at times, but usually following a balanced pattern. In a mentally imbalanced person the two lines are erratic and discordant, more like jagged lines rather than smooth waves. You can read the Shoud here
The human aspect has agendas, desires and beliefs. The spirit wants only to flow. As Adamus has stated in some of the recent workshops, the spirit wants to, “Know thyself, experience thyself and express thyself.” The Divine Will can flow with the human Free Will if the human is in trust of him or her Self, but so often the human has fallen out of trust, and essentially turns his or her back on the Divine Self. That’s where the real pain of separation occurs, and the human stumbles through life in a fog, proclaiming to have free will but not really understanding what it means.
From my viewpoint it’s fortunate that my Divine Will takes precedence over my illusion of Free Will. There have been many times in my life where some “guiding force” has created better situations for me than I could have created for myself. I know now that it was the Divine Will of my Self.
For instance, I don’t think I would have freely and consciously quit my corporate job in 2001. Crimson Circle would have been a part-time hobby, Linda and I would have never traveled around the world and met so many incredible Shaumbra, and we wouldn’t have started Shaumbra Institute as a way of training teachers to present this material to awakening humans. But…. on April 15, 2001 I was relieved of my corporate duties even though I was a co-founder in the company, AirCell, Inc.
As I pondered Adamus’ message about free will I thought of another turning point in my life. At the end of high school I joined the Army. The year was 1973, I was 17 years old, had long hair and had never, ever thought about the Army. Literally, something beyond me caused me to walk into the recruiter’s office one day in April 1973 and sign up for three years. It wasn’t until I was in Basic Training at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri during the middle of summer that I thought it was the dumbest thing I had EVER done. I broke down crying late one night (not a cool thing to do in boot camp) wondering what made me do this, and why someone didn’t try to stop me. But… it turned out to be one of the best things that ever happened to me. The Army assigned me to NASA and sent me to the San Francisco area where I was on civilian status for the next three years. It was one of the best times of my life, and proved to be the foundation of many things I would do later in life.
In my personal examples, something “overshadowed” my free will and brought me to a higher place. I wonder now what would happen if I really trusted in myself? Adamus concluded his lecture by showing what is happening to us right now. The spirit wave form and the human wave form are now coming together. After innumerable lifetimes of separation, they’re starting to dance together. Adamus showed this point of intersection in his illustration, defining the “X” spot where the human consciousness joins with the soul. He said that at this point there is no longer a body, mind and spirit. Instead, we become a Body of Consciousness, all flowing and working together. There’s no longer a human “Free Will” and a separate “Divine Will.” There’s only the “I Am,” with full consciousness and awareness.
Adamus’ message sparked some excellent conversations on the Crimson Circle message board. We’ve include some excerpts in the Shaumbra Speaks section. But after all, the Shoud IS just a reflection of us. Adamus is just the very entertaining and sometimes annoying mirror.
By the way, I’ll add my two cents to the discussion. I disagree with Adamus’ opinion that we don’t have free will. It WAS our free will that caused us to turn our back on our soul, to forget who we truly are, and to pretend that we are limited in this human dimension. Now we’re just experiencing what it’s like to not have true, open and joyful free will.
